JANUARY 2013

HELLO HOW FAST THE LAST YEAR WENT BY.  I WANT TO SLOW DOWN AND TRY TO LEARN HOW TO BLOG.  I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HELP IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS ANY IDEAS.  I AM GOING TO CHECK WITH THE LIBRARY AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY CLASSES.

This year has started of with a blast, there are a lot of things going on right now.  I have started my OZARK FACE PAINTERS business and I painted at over 19 festivals last year.  I am looking forward to painting this year.  The festivals are full of friendly people that all work together to have a great time. 

I am still a member of TWIN LAKES WRITERS and may do a book on face painting. DIY
I wish Mary Nida Smith would start back up the NCCWL  NORTH CENTRAL CHILDREN'S WRITERS AND ILLUSTRATORS.  The club never really got off the ground, I think there are more writers of children's stories in this area that need the help, me being one.

I hope I can get this to publish, I really need to learn how to do this  BLOGGING THING.
I will try again next week, or this week if anything exciting happens.

FEBRUARY

Hello everyone I am back for the second month in 2012.  I hope to do my blog every week this year but the time is flying by so fast I can't keep up.

I just drove home from Branson Missouri and the Ozark Writers League [OWL]  with Mary Nida Smith we had a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new one.  It is really a different crowd each time we go the faces are changing.  We had two great speakers and a nice photo and art show.  I came away with a second place ribbon in photography which was a line of trucks and cars in the school car line at 3:00 pm at Hackler school when I pick up my grand daughter, hurry to get there and wait.

I will try to down load the picture so you can see and feel the experience of the car line. ha ha

Dan Case talked about E-BOOK and I want to put my book on AMAZON as soon as I figure it out.
Dan gave us a lot to think about and I am going to follow up on what he said. 

I am getting tired my fingers don't want to hit the right keys tonight, so I will try to continue this tomorrow. 

SCARECROW GIRL BOOK SIGNING

THE BOOK SIGNING WAS INTERESTING,  SEEING ALL THE BOOKS THAT ARE FOR SALE IN HASTINGS MADE BE FEEL LIKE A SMALL DUCK IN A BIG POND.  I THINK MY BOOK HAS A GOOD STORY AND IT IS A JOY TO READ AND VIEW THE ILLUSTRATIONS.  IT IS HARD TO STAND OUT AGAINST THE HARD BACK BOOKS, OR THE COMMERCIALLY PUBLISHED  OR PROFESSIONAL ARTIST BOOK COVERS. I WANT TO THANK THE FRIENDS THAT CAME BY TO BUY MY BOOK AND SUPPORT MY FIRST BOOK SIGNING.

Happy New Year to everyone, it is January and my news resolution is to write something each month about life whats happening. I have a large number of websites that I want to update each month. I have been lazy in starting and not finishing life gets in the way.

Well whats up for this year?  My book "Scarecrowgirl" is published thanks to Earl Belcher. I have it at Hastings for sale if anyone wants a copy. I also have a website for my book htpp://www.scarecrowgirl.com  please take a look. 

I am also working on "The Snail That Lost Her Shell" and trying to get it republished with updates and a teachers or parents guide. I want to make a little snail to give with each book for the child to hold as they read.

I am going to start working harder on my rodeo guide I have all the elements I want in the guide now I need to get pictures and stories about the history of each rodeo. I also have been doing my face painting dba "Face Art by Cherie" I have a website for this business. htpp://www.faceart2011.webs.com I have fun doing birthday parties.

HELP HELP email junk

I am really getting tired of opening my email.  Someone has gotten into my email and stole my address book and now are sending Viagra adds to all my friends, how terrible, I have ran all kinds of scans to protect my computer, but they still get in. 

Being a writer they say get out there on the internet and let people know who you are, the more followers you have the better!  Yea right??? I don't want to know how to enlarge certain parts of a mans body, or get some money from someone overseas to hid in American to be ripped off, every day it a poor or lady or the military that has something they want me to send my name & bank account information too. You have to be joking I can't stop all these email from coming to my junk mail.   If I change my email address I have to let everyone know how do I know I am not letting the thief know too? If anyone has the answer please let me know. cherie

CHRISTMAS AT THE NEALS

Christmas 2010
We have had a lot of sadness the end of 2010.  With the loss of Jana and Sam.  You think your heart will never mend, but in time the sadness will lighten up and we will find things in our life to smile about.  We have 3 new grand children a boy and two girl that are a real joy. 
We have cut way back on Christmas this year and I really think the kids didn't even notice.  They  have so much more then we did as kids.  But times are changing and I suppose that is life in general.  We had our Christmas the weekend before Christmas so the kids didn't have to travel on Christmas.  It just isn't the same.  I keep thinking we have missed the big day with all the excitement and laughter.  I have always loved Christmas the best of all holidays, but this year the joy is  gone.  Next year we will do it around Christmas or after Christmas so the excitement is still there.
I am waiting for the first snow I love the snow and watching the dogs play in it and the cat look so funny when she is out in it and can't find a dry way back in to the warm house.  The snow seems to purify the earth and give it a blank canvas for nature to work on.  I hope anyone that reads this has a nice Christmas and the New Year 2011 hold all there dreams.

DECEMBER 2010

Where has the year gone? This year has ended in death and despair for me I have lost my first born and my best friend. It is hard to say what will happen next year if I can find hope in creating a relationship with the family that is left behind I hope that ii is possible. Life is so short and you never know how long you have to tell everyone how important they are to you. I look back over the last year and think I should of done something to break the ice that had formed between us. I really regret the time I wasted being stubborn and letting you cool off before I tried again. Only now do I realize that you could of used a friend to be there for you, and I wasn't. I know you are in a safe place now and you know how much you were loved. Till we meet again.
